Summarizing 2021

When providing a summary of an entire year, it might be best to follow Sergeant Joe Friday’s admonition from the popular 1950’s TV show Dragnet: “Just the facts, ma’am.” So here are “just the facts,” along with the pictures of the Well Versed team. You helped make all of this happen. Thank you.

PODCASTS: Our faithful and diligent Resource Manager, Tristan Teng, helped us publish a total of 52 unique podcasts in 2021, which can be heard on Apple, iTunes, Google, Spotify, Podbean, Amazon Music and Pandora.

WELL VERSED NEWSLETTERS: Thanks to the remarkable Giulia Giampa, we sent out a total of 297 newsletters in 2021, encouraging Christ-followers to take bold stands in today’s cancel culture environs. Jeanette Bradley brilliantly manages the email lists.

U.S. CONGRESS IN WASHINGTON, D.C.: Congresswoman Michele Bachmann and Attorney Phillip Jauregui continued to help Well Versed host events for freshmen and seasoned Members of Congress in July and October.

UNITED NATIONS IN NEW YORK CITY: Congresswoman Bachman, Attorney Jauregui and the Well Versed team, hosted an event for Ambassadors at the UN in July and again in October. Over the years, the Well Versed team have met privately with 93 of the 193 Ambassadors. It is a blessing to continue private conversations with both Members of Congress and Ambassadors.

OVERSIGHT: Managing all the details for these events – and a myriad of other programs – is Shamain Webster, our remarkable and creative Executive Director.

HEADS OF STATE: In 2018 and 2019, we traveled with a small delegation and had the opportunity of meeting with the Prime Minister of Israel (three times), the President of Egypt, the King of Jordan, the Prime Minister of Kurdistan, the President of Brazil, the President of Guatemala, the President of Bolivia, the President of Honduras and – as members of the White House Faith Leaders – with President Trump (five or six times).

In addition, we were also blessed to meet with top governmental leaders in Costa Rica, Mexico, Ukraine, the Netherlands and visit the Hague (The Netherlands), the UN headquarters in Geneva Switzerland, and the European Union headquarters locations in Brussels, Belgium and Strasbourg, France.

However, as we all know, Covid brought an end to such meetings. Although travels have been vastly reduced, we were able to make some international trips in 2021. The purpose is always the same: To bring Biblical principles of governance to government leaders.

Traveling with Mario Bramnick in 2021, Rosemary and I, along with a small group, were privileged to meet with the new President of Guatemala, Alejandro Giammatei (we had met with former President Jimmy Morales two years previously), and then had a second visit with the President of Brazil, Yair Bolsonaro. In addition, we had the privilege of meeting with Hungarian State Secretary Tristan Asbej.

TEACHING: After traveling to Brazil in October, a unique invitation came to return in December of 2021 to teach for eight hours on “Biblical Principles of Governance” to various leaders in the Capital City of Brasilia.

BOOKS TRANSLATED: My book, Well Versed, came out in Spanish in November and in Portuguese in December, thanks to the encouragement of Bishop JB Carvalho of Brasilia who arranged for three book signings in Brazil as my book was released. Well Versed was previously released in Hungarian. Now, among my 21 books, there are editions in about 15 languages.

SPEAKING: Tracy Burger, who became my wonderful and faithful Executive Administrator 14 years ago, efficiently manages my calendar, travel schedule, Well Versed finances, and a host of other issues. During 2021, I had the privilege of speaking at 10 conferences and events – outside of Well Versed events – and speak at 13 church campuses. I so thank God for Tracy.

WORLD PRAYER NETWORK: Well Versed gives leadership to and funds the “World Prayer Network”, co-founded by Mario Bramnick and me the day after the November 2020 election. These calls have continued every Wednesday and Sunday night since then. The 104 WPN calls in 2021, nearly two hours each, were organized by my sister, Judy Garlow Wade. My wife Rosemary Schindler Garlow has been by my side on every single WPN event, giving in-depth spiritual leadership on each call.

WORLD PRAYER NETWORK STATS: Our spectacular tech guy, Terry Barnes – a genius in my opinion, and so sacrificial – reports the following World Prayer Network Video Views stats for 2021:

FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM, TWITTER: Thank God for Connie Rollins who has given superb and creative leadership to our social media team. Connie, always willing to help in every way, is pictured here serving at our book table.

PRAYER: My sister, Judy Garlow Wade, strategically leads prayer ministry for Well Versed, hosting the intercessors for three hours of prayer time on the World Prayer Network as well as another weekly two-hour prayer call. We are a prayer-blessed ministry.

PUBLIC READING OF SCRIPTURE: 1 Timothy 4:13 says to “devote yourselves to the public reading of Scripture…” So every Wednesday at noon, we do exactly that, having done 50 such Zoom calls in 2021. Allen Ingram and Giulia Giampa faithfully lead this unique ministry.

BOOKS OFFERED: We have continued to offer my books at in-person events and online, selling thousands of copies. Thank you to Tristan Teng, our Resource Manager, for his faithfulness at managing this daunting task, along with helpers Jeanette Bradley, Connie Rollins, and the wonderfully entertaining and comedic Ken Newell. In just the last few weeks, we have had a wonderful response to a new book written by Well Versed Board Member Frank Kacer. The book is titled 65 Wisdom Principles for Christian Political Activist, and it is not too late to order one! (See below)

RADIO: The Garlow Perspective, a one minute commentary, continues to be aired on approximately 800 radio outlets on a daily basis. Over the past 18 years, we have aired nearly 4,500 commentaries.

WEBSITE: www.WellVersedWorld.org is our main website, but 2022 will see the unveiling of www.WellVersedU.org as well, complete with nearly 400 short videos, short teaching courses and certificates of completion on Biblical principles of governance.

ISRAEL: One of the purposes of Well Versed is to prepare the way for the Messiah’s coming reign. According to Isaiah 2 and Micah 2, He will bring sovereign rule from Jerusalem to the nations. We (you and Well Versed together) have been raised up “for such a time as this,” (Esther 4:14). May God help each one of us to be a modern-day "Mordecai" (Esther 2:5-7) to face those who are a present day "Haman" (Esther 3:1, 5) in this world.

HEBREW CALENDARS: The Lord is returning His people to our roots – naturally and spiritually. He is gathering His sheep-nations (Matthew 25:31, 32, 40; Joel 3:11-14) as they are being shaken and winnowed to be a remnant for His glory. Well Versed aids in the restoration of Israel, bringing practical support and prayer for “the peace of Jerusalem” (Ps 122:6). One of the ways to do that is for people to learn to use – alongside our normal Gregorian calendar – a Biblical or Hebrew calendar, outlining the Feasts of our Lord, which are not merely for the Jewish people, but for us as Christians as well. My wife, Rosemary Schindler Garlow, has mailed out hundreds of calendars to persons who enthusiastically desire this wonderful information. She personally packages, prays over, and mails each one. SHOFARS: Robert Weinger is the official shofar-sounder for the World Prayer Network. Living in Israel at Beth Hogla, near Jericho, not far from Jerusalem, he oversees an international ministry called “Shofar So Great.” Under the leadership of Greg Berg, our Well Versed Financial Advisor, we have seen an enormous response for these God-ordained instruments. Robert hand-picks the shofars, tests them, and personally packages and sends them from Israel. (It is not too late to order one; see below.)

PILGRIMAGE: The best way to support Israel is to go to Israel. Join us October 22 to November 4, 2022, for our next tour of Israel. Allow me to say this: While all the Israel trips are great, Rosemary (having been to Israel 72 times) plans THE BEST tours of Israel because they include meeting unique Israelis, and “off-roading” with the bus, to sites other groups do not go. They are designed to prepare your heart for the soon-coming King.

Kyle still helps when he can, but is busy with grad school as well as teaching full-time. We are so proud of him.
Chris lives in Dallas, yet continues, when we ask him, to help us. In fact, he will be on the WPN call with us tomorrow, January 2nd. We are profoundly thankful for Chris.
Tiffany helps when she can, but she has BIG news: She is engaged to Lawson Bates. Just like Tiffany Espensen was known for her role in movies (Google her), Lawson Bates is known for his role on a TV series, Bringing Up Bates. People Magazine and many others news outlets covered the engagement. We are thrilled to be involved in their exciting, upcoming March wedding. Tiffany will continue to work with us in one of the annual events we have done in our UN ministry in NYC during the international Consultation on the Status of Women.
