European Tour - Part 5

SWITZERLAND
Instead of meeting with government officials, we met with many Ukrainian refugees, forced out of their homes, quickly, who escaped with whatever they could get in a car, and ended up losing everything.
Worshipping with Ukrainians who have had to flee for their lives, who have lost everything, but not their faith. Vibrant worship. I have the sobering opportunity to preach. Given what they have been through, I feel quite unworthy.

Speaking through an interpreter to Ukrainians who have been displaced by the war (who have lost everything!), who are in Zurich, Switzerland. An enormous privilege.
CHURCH HISTORY
And now we include some important church history.
The famous Hussenstein (Huss’s stone) - in Constance - on the German-Swiss border. This is one of my favorite sites on the whole earth, a sacred site, holy ground.(May I request that you listen to the entire video.)

612 years ago this week, on March 15, 1411, the Catholic authorities published the excommunication of Jan Huss, who was burned at the stake on July 6, 1415. We were at the location of the Hussenstein - Hiss’s Stone - yesterday - at Constance, on the German-Swiss border, location of the burning at the stake - for believing in faith alone, grace alone, believing in the Scriptures. The Lutheran Reformation occurred 100 years later because of Huss. We all are highly indebted to him.
